    Key Responsibilities: 
    - Responsible for strategic sourcing of market solutions for a spend portfolio of approx. $150 MM
    - Lead a team of Commodity Managers and assign ownership for spend categories to members of the team, including self
    - Develop and drive an aggressive pipeline of value creation opportunities that generate measurable business cost reductions, optimize total cost of ownership, optimize working capital consumption, profitably mitigate risks, avoids unnecessary spend or premiums in capital spend, and increase the value of offerings for Caraustar
    - Work with stakeholders to develop, establish, execute, and manage sourcing strategies for indirect materials and services
    - Ensure uninterrupted operations through timely supply of products or services that meet Caraustar’s quality and performance expectations
    - Develop market expertise for strategic spend categories to pursue competitively advantaged sourcing positions and investigate global markets for new sources of supply and alternative products as needed
    - Form multi-functional teams to evaluate, develop and implement sourcing initiatives as needed
    - Provide strategic sourcing support to capital projects and be a steward of the company’s capital
    - Develop relationships with stakeholders and challenge when a different approach would create more value
    - Develop a personal understanding of stakeholders’ businesses, key strategies and priorities, procurement needs and expectations, and anticipate needs to continually ensure alignment of sourcing strategies and initiatives
    - Drive procurement integration with stakeholders through timely, efficient and effective communications
    - Identify category market leaders and leverage the value proposition of relevant innovations into value for Caraustar
    - Develop and manage strategic supplier relationships, measure their performance and hold accountable for results
    - Ensure service contractors, as applicable, are also selected on the basis of ability to meet Caraustar’s safety expectations
    - Pursue and drive commercial and transactional excellence by negotiating savvy commercial deals
    - Develop, negotiate, implement and manage procurement contracts
    - Work collaboratively with the Procurement Operations team and stakeholders to support requisitioning and purchasing compliance with preferred supplier programs
    - Measure sourcing performance vs. market and vs. benchmarks and hold the team and self, accountable for results


    Minimum Requirements: 
    - Bachelor’s degree in business management, engineering, or equivalent degree or experience
    - Minimum of 10 years of experience with at least 3 years of indirect materials and services sourcing experience
    - Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated effective talent management and leadership experience
    - Experience leading strategic sourcing initiatives for multiple organizational stakeholders from idea to implementation
    - Experience developing, negotiating and managing national or regional supply and service agreements or supply contracts with an understanding of the legal, technical and commercial aspects of agreements
    - Experience providing strategic sourcing support to capital projects or major manufacturing site maintenance events
    - Demonstrated interpersonal and relationship building skills as well as effective written and verbal communications skills
    - Demonstrated business acumen and able to solve problems
    - Demonstrated economic, analytical, strategic and critical thinking skills
    - Demonstrated risk management skills, i.e., ability to profile, identify and profitably mitigate risks
    - Experience with project development, management and execution, and ability to implement change
    - Demonstrated ability to operate with a sense of urgency and to work and influence in a multi-stakeholder organization
    - Proven self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit, creative and innovative, yet collaborative and humble, stakeholder focused, service oriented, and hands-on mentality
    - Flexible and well organized and able to manage and negotiate competing priorities
    - Willing and able to travel to US and Canada locations as needed (estimated to be up to 25%)
     Preferred Requirements: 
    - Experience in a manufacturing environment, e.g., process engineering, project management, or operations
    - MBA degree with a course of study in general management, operations management or supply chain management
    - Paper industry experience
