Provide technical support for customers and plant as well as provide training to production departments. Drive continuous improvement in the performance of all aspects of the operation – safety, quality assurance, customer service, productivity, operating efficiencies and cost containment.  Maintain quality systems and facilitate surveillance audits.
- Actively support the Company's Safety initiatives through personal involvement and leadership, helping drive the organization towards an incident free workplace. 
- Provide leadership, technical support and training to guide changes to plant processes and procedures in order to reduce process variability, improve product performance in customer plants, reduce manufacturing costs and improve operating efficiency.
- Provide technical support for customers and plant.
- Demonstrate and teach Lean concepts in support of the Company's continuous improvement initiatives. 
- Lead quality related initiatives including training, enforcing quality practices, managing Quality Systems.
- Lead resolving technical and process issues with customer and plant.
- Be liason in conjunction with Sales between customer and plant in regards to issues.
- Maintain equipment records.  Purchase operating supplies.
- Perform testing and operate lab equipment.
- Facilitate the continuous improvement process by which projects and activities are identified, defined, developed and prioritized.  Responsibilities include facilitating meetings, evaluating recommendations, planning and facilitating the implementation of changes, tracking activities and reporting progress.
- Participate in downtime maintenance and readiness planning and project management activities.
- Perform all required duties and tasks in accordance with Company accounting policies and financial control procedures.
- Ability to understand production drawings, prints and measurements.
- Train production employees in analytical problem solving and decision making techniques.
- Identify opportunities to improve existing procedures and related tools to meet the requirements of an evolving workflow process.
- Perform formal Internal Audits and daily process audits
- Participate in Gemba Walks.
- Manage spare parts inventory.
- Participate in monthly inventory with other staff members.
- Improve/Update equipment including safety devices.
- Develop Job Hazard Analysis.
- Travel (10%) to customers, other Caraustar facilities and training.
- Facilitate Survellaince Quality audits and other customer audits including facility assessments.
- Problem solve equipment, quality, and production issues.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
- Take on projects individually and as a team member.
- Computer skills: Ability to navigate customer portals.
- Flexible schedule including potential weekends.


- 2 year degree-preferably in a technical field, Engineering, Operations Management, etc.
- 2 years plus experience in automotive manufacturing.
- Prior experience Managing a maintenance or Technical department.
- Prior experience Managing a Quality system, preferably automotive related
- Good mechanical skills.
- Demonstrated compliance to health safety practices.
- Process improvement knowledge in a manufacturing environment such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and etc.\ to drive operational excellence.
- Statistical Process Control knowledge.
- Demonstrated ability to efficiently multi-task and meet/supersede stated objectives.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Proficiency in data analysis.
- Must be able to communicate efficiently and effectively both written and verbal.
- Excellent team leadership abilities and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to practice time management skills.
- Ability to adhere to healthy safety practices
- 4 year technical degree-preferably in Engineering, Operations Management, etc.
- 4 year plus automotive experience.
- Quality Auditor certification.
- Six Sigma certified.
- Quality -IATF familiarization.
- CAD experience.
- Blue print drawing and reading.
