This role will help maintain equipment and grounds at our Chicago-based folding carton plant, enabling efficient production and a safe work environment. We are hiring for multiple shifts. Duties and Responsibilities of Maintenance Mechanic will include:

- Perform all necessary repairs for the facility including mechanical, electrical, support equipment repairs, building and grounds maintenance
- Examine machines and mechanical equipment to diagnose source of trouble, dismantling and replacing parts as necessary
- Assist with the inventory of replacement parts
- Perform preventative maintenance on machining
- Provide support to production personnel by answering breakdown assistance calls
- Follow department and company policies, procedures, and safety rules
- Reports all food safety and quality problems to the Quality Team
- May be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned


Qualifications for Maintenance Mechanic include:

- 5 years experience working as a Maintenance Mechanic in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- High School diploma.  Mechanical/Electrical Training Certification or equivalent work experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
- Experience working with low voltage machinery and equipment such as sheeters, print presses, die cutters, and gluing equipment is preferred
- Ability to read schematics and working with PLC’s
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and safety best practices is highly advantageous
- Proficient in working with various hand and power tools
- Ability to operate a forklift truck is a plus
- Capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to lift 50lbs., bend, kneel, and otherwise preform all other physical requirements related to machinery repair
