- Work with Supervisor to ensure work list is getting completed.
- Create work orders for jobs to be planned.
- Maintain a safe work environment, hold co-workers accountable for safe work practices.
- Work with Supervisor to create planned work list for upcoming week.
- Provide support and guidance to co-workers as needed to complete scheduled jobs.
- Plan upcoming work, including material list, time needed, & how many workers to complete the work.
- When a demand call comes, evaluate the issue to determine if it requires an immediate response or can be planned for future work.
- Respond to an issues, contractors, or vendors when Supervisor is unavailable i.e. Meeting or out of the mill.
- Oversee, participate, and lead the shop in morning exercises and safety huddles
- Bring safety issues or NMHC write-up forms to the morning meeting and present to the group
- Discuss safety related items that are reported in the morning updates from the mills
- Enforce the safety policies and verify that employees are following them
- Respond to safety issues that occur during the day and determine if immediate action is required from the group
- Schedule safety work orders for completion each week from the safety backlog


- High School diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree preferred but not required and/or 5 - 8 years of mechanical experience in multi-craft supervision and an industrial environment.  Experience in estimating maintenance and repair costs a plus.
- Working Knowledge of applicable safety laws and common practices in manufacturing maintenance.
- Considerable tact and human relations skills in interacting with all levels of management and facility employees a must. 
- Superior problem-solving skills required.
- Proficiency with Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel, and CMMS.
- Ability to proficiently multi-task essential.
- Ability to exercise good judgment a must.
