Responsibilities

PURPOSE
Individual will perform tasks related to general clerical functions as related to Accounts Payable, Payroll, Billing and Procurement.   More specifically, this position will perform the following functions:
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform all required duties and tasks in accordance with Caraustar accounting policies and financial control procedures
- Administer and Prepare all data necessary to process the hourly payroll on a weekly basis
- Coordinate and submit all payroll information to the corporate payroll department in a timely manner
- Generate all necessary payroll reports and distribute appropriately
- Maintain multiple reports related to payroll for tracking so as to administer all pertinent mill and employee policies. This would include but not be limited to vacations, attendance, points related to absences, vacation and time off approvals, FMLA, STD, safety shoes, safety glasses, tool allotments, holidays, birthdays and union seniority.
- Input new hires, job progressions and other personnel information into the Kronos system
- Coordinate with the plant superintendent to create the weekly work schedule for all hourly employees
- Prepare and maintain the ISO 9001:2008 job qualification matrix and yearly updates
- Track and administer monthly safety meeting requirements
- Coordinate, reconcile and submit customer billing and credit memo data to corporate accounting on a daily and monthly basis
- Track and record daily production related tonnage data including returns and converting activity
- Assist customers with billing concerns
- Generate monthly sales and production reports for management
- Record and maintain daily chemical receipts and usage data used for month end closing
- Assign account number and other JDE system coding to vendor invoices that are received at the mill and from corporate A/P in escalation files
- Compile accrual data for month end closing
- Reconcile several on-going accounting records in A/P and procurement
- Serve as administrator of the Procurement system (Megamations)
- Process receipts of incoming products and services from vendors in Megamations
- Work with management to generate yearly blanket purchase orders and track their activity throughout the year
- Provide guidance on union contract details
- Assist mill employees with payroll and benefits questions
 
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
Comply in all respects with the provisions of the Caraustar Standards of Business Conduct Policy required

Qualifications

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma and at least 1-2 years’ experience in related field.
- Must be organized and detail oriented.
- Must possess strong communication skills.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office software programs.
- Familiarity with OSHA and administering employee benefits a plus.
- Accuracy is necessary to perform essential job functions.
